Teralani Susnset Sail: A Must in Maui

Teralani Sailing Adventures is one of Maui’s most popular sailing activities. And for good reason. Their lineup of snorkeling, sunset, dinner, and whale watching tours has been voted “Best Water Activity” in the Maui News Readers' Poll, and travelers have consistently rated them highly on Trip Advisor, enough to earn a coveted “Certificate of Excellence.”

With tours leaving from Ka’anapali Beach daily, the Teralani fleet provides snorkel/snuba trips and sunset cocktail and dinner sails on state-of-the-art catamarans. These custom-built catamarans are US Coast Guard-approved for up to 120 passengers. But the Teralani crew keeps the guest list to just 49 people to maintain a more intimate excursion. An indoor salon provides comfortable tables and benches, while the upper deck has plenty of room to roam and take in the majestic views of the Pacific Ocean and West Maui coastline. Private charters are also available—a memorable way to have a wedding. birthday party, or family reunion.

For the past several years, chef Paris Nabavi has had a great partnership with the Teralani team, providing custom menus for guests of each tour. If you're looking to add a sail activity to your Maui vacation, we highly recommend you give the folks at Teralani at call.

Gluten-Free Pizza Crust is Here!

Pizza Paradiso in Kaanapali, Maui, is excited to announce that one of our most requested items is now on the menu: gluten-free pizza crust. After a long search for the best gluten-free dough mix, we chose the awesome blend from Bob's Red Mill. You may now order any 12" specialty pizza with a GF crust—or make your own 12" gluten-free pizza creation from scratch—for only $3 more.

Reviews of Our Gluten-Free Pizza Are In!

We're already getting some rave reviews on our new GF crust. Here's what two customers had to say:

"Amazing gluten free pizza. The crust was very good and the toppings were so flavorful. The best gluten free on the island by far. Plus the salads were fresh and loaded with veggies."
— Pam T., Lodi, CA via Yelp!
"Myself and our two children have Celiac Disease so eating at restaurants while on holiday is always a challenge. HOWEVER, if you also have Celiac or gluten sensitivity, Pizza Paradiso is a MUST on your places to eat while on Maui!! When you sink your teeth into their gluten-free pizza crust, it’s so amazingly good you’ll wonder if it’s truly gluten-free!! The texture and rise is amazing, and the taste is so incredible it’s almost like eating “regular” pizza. (And as all us Celiacs know, not knowing the difference is KEY to successful gf baking). This is NOT anything like the food-service-type pizza crusts you’ve tasted before that some restaurants buy in bulk to make their gf pizzas."
— K.E., Seattle, WA via TripAdvisor.

A big thanks to all of you who helped us taste and test. We're happy we could bring pizza back into your lives!

Frommer's Maui Guidebook

Frommer's new guidebook is out, and we thought we'd share the write-up with you:

Order at the counter (pastas, gourmet pizza whole or by the slice, paninis, salads, and desserts) and find a seat at one of the few tables. The pasta sauces—marinara, pescatore, Alfredo, Florentine, and pesto, with options and add-ons—are as popular as the pizzas (which took best pizza in a recent Maui News' reader poll 3 years in a row). The Massimo, a pesto sauce with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and capers, comes with a choice of chicken, shrimp, or clams, and is so good it was a Taste of Lahaina Festival winner. Recent additions to the menu include gyros, souvlakia, hummus, and cheesesteak sandwiches. Takeout, dine in, or delivery*, this is a hot spot in the neighborhood.

You can read more about Pizza Paradiso at Frommer's.

*Sorry, we no longer offer delivery.
